Stepping Into the Digital Visual World: inDesign

Join us  at the Alliance for the Arts and take a semi-deep dive into some Adobe products, this month we’ll take a deeper look into Adobe inDesign .

The course will be in two parts. The first session will cover the interfaces and basic tools. The second course will get into more advanced tools and features. Throughout the course, there will also be a focus on Best Practices when it comes to getting the most out of these apps.

If you are wanting to self publish your first novel or your life story, you need to have a basic understanding of inDesign and how to layout your text into a book format.

inDesign is like taking the pieces of a puzzle and creating that final document that will become your book. Learn how to easily bring in text, graphics and photos onto your pages. Learn how to not just format your text but to also make it look like you paid a professional designer to layout your book.

Whether you’re formatting a book or just a simple brochure, you’ll get the understanding you need to create attention getting layouts.

While we always say never judge a book by its cover, in the case of independent authors, you will need your cover to stand out from the competition. Some best practice tips in this course will help you reach that goal.

Sign up for the software you’re interested in or take all the courses to get a better understanding of the Adobe Creative Cloud. Courses will offer hands-on experience to learn as we go. Come with your questions as well.

Not interested in using the Adobe Creative Cloud but want to use the various other options on the market? You can still benefit from these courses. Most of the tools and features in Adobe are also found in other software apps, same tools just different names. If other apps like Canvas or Corel Draw don’t have a particular tool in the current version, it will find its way to them soon enough.
