Main Gallery – “I Ink, Therefore, I Am.”

Ink, as a medium, has always extended beyond the confines of fine art. From penmanship, to illustration, to tattoos, ink is a medium that continuously evolves to tell new stories as well as reinforce those from the past. In ink, there’s history, rebellion, and evolution.

The Alliance for the Arts invites artists of all specialties to submit work for “I Ink, Therefore, I Am.”, a museum-style exhibition that will showcase the broad history of ink as a method, concept, and profession. Media eligible for entry: Tattoo Photography, flash sheet design, ink painting, illustration, sumi-e, scrimshaw, apprenticeship studies, and fake skin studies. Any artwork in a non-ink medium must depict ink conceptually (for example, an oil painting of a tattooed figure is considered an acceptable entry).
