Published: 01/29/2026  |  Updated: 01/29/2026

A trio of special art and cultural events keep locals and visitors coming back every month. Dive into these community mainstays that celebrate the playful, creative and energetic spirit of Fort Myers.

Music Walk

Fort Myers, third Friday of every month

When the streets close down, people start dancing. Every month from 6:00–10:00 PM, music livens up downtown Fort Myers’ historic River District — with the eclectic sounds of jazz, Latin, blues and rock spilling through open doors and patios while street performers line the streets. A different mix of musicians plays every month, and the festivities stretch on as sunset gives way to the glow of lampposts at night. Take a stroll in any direction, drink in hand, to watch, listen and dance. Pro tip: If you need a break, grab a seat on the upper deck of a restaurant so you can watch all the entertainment down below while enjoying your meal.

Art Walk

Fort Myers, first Friday of every month

Art takes center stage in the historic River District on the first Friday of every month from 6:00–10:00 PM. During this event, you can stroll around and admire any number of special celebrations of local and regional art. Galleries open their doors for exhibits and receptions, artisans line the streets displaying their wares, and oversized murals invite you to take colorful selfies. Wander around freely amid the hum of conversation and occasional acoustic performance, grab street food, or sit on a patio and enjoy the warm breeze under the stars.

Bayside Park Sunday Series

Fort Myers Beach, every Friday Sunday

You’ll feel like a local in no time as you sway along to an outdoor concert series at Bayside Park on Fort Myers Beach. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy top local bands in a free series that takes place every Friday at 5:30 PM and every Sunday at 7 PM. Set against a backdrop of swaying palms and salty sea air, the concerts deliver a perfect slice of island life. Locals hang out barefoot in the grass, kids chase after bubbles, and food trucks dish out everything from fresh seafood to frozen treats.
