Bring Artistic Inspiration into Meeting Planning

As you build an agenda for your next meeting or event, bringing in local elements helps create a memorable experience. The flourishing arts scene and grassroots arts community in Fort Myers was born from diverse groups of local artists, where their artistic inspirations are apparent in the area’s museums, art galleries and vibrant murals that bring bright pops of color into the street.

Downtown Art Culture History

Plan an evening out around Art Walk, celebrated on the first Friday of every month in the historic Fort Myers River District. Lively First Street is closed to traffic so you’re invited to wander, explore art demonstrations and exhibitions, listen to live music and meet the artists behind the work. Grab a drink and a bite to eat with colleagues in the middle of all the action.

Take advantage of creative outlets to spark creativity and inspire camaraderie. At Paintings with a Twist, you can plan a team-building activity to paint alongside a pro while enjoying quality time and a glass of wine. No experience is required, and you’ll each be able to bring home your own hand-painted work of art.

An evening at the symphony hits just the right notes for a rewarding retreat. The Gulf Coast Symphony is a leading arts organization hosting over 100 programs in classical, jazz, opera and other performances — including special candlelight performances for a full multisensory experience. Attend events at the Music & Arts Community Center (MACC), the acclaimed Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall and other Southwest Florida venues.

Arts Gallery Culture History

In addition to art exhibits and cultural performances at Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, the venue’s rooftop is a perfect location for a corporate gathering. Watch the sunset over the Caloosahatchee River and soak up city views while socializing in the exclusive sculpture garden and reception area. Public events include DJ nights, salsa dancing and wine-and-paint evenings on the rooftop.

Cultural and artistic attractions are everywhere you look, but a private tour offers a curated experience that’s ideal for groups.  True Tours offers guided walking tours of the historical River District, sharing insights into the city’s roots and how it’s evolved into a dynamic and culture-rich destination. The Fort Myers Mural Society has created the Art Stumble app for a DIY approach to appreciating the colorful murals, sculptures and other street art that livens up this whole region.
