Lakes Park Railroad Museum
For the train-obsessed youngster, head to the Railroad Museum of South Florida. Here, you’ll find historic train cars and hundreds of artifacts from trains through the ages. Plus, a 1/8th-scale railroad can take you through woods, lakes, a small village and other scenic locations. This beautiful park offers something for all ages. Salty Sam’s Pirate Cruise
If you’re looking for swashbuckling adventure, head aboard the good ship Pieces of Eight with Salty Sam’s Pirate Cruise. A 90-minute adventure on a replica Spanish galleon, you’ll take part in pirate activities like games, a mutiny and firing the cannons. If you're traveling with family and friends older than 21, try the adults-only cruise that sets sail after dark.
Sun Splash Family Waterpark
This waterpark is a great way to beat the heat and get some quality time together at the same time. Dozens of water slides, a children’s play pool, ecological boardwalk, lazy river and sand volleyball court all make for a splashing time. Please note their season is open March-October. Be sure to check their website for hours of operation.
